Creating Designer Relationships
Love is supposed to be easy, right? Well what happens when Cinderella gets an executive job, owns her own castle and can afford more than one pair of glass slippers? Or...Prince Charming now rides the babies around on his steed to rock them to sleep at night. He lays his sword, and any hopes of a doting princess, aside, for dirty diapers. Then again, perhaps he gallops off into the sunset.

Either way, the fairy tale is over.

Science predicts that soon, we will live to be 120 years old. The concept of “long-term” relationships takes on a whole new meaning when put in this light. Our current ways of relating to one another needs revamping and updating. In today’s society, finances, children, home purchases, sexuality, old age, animals, careers, personal needs, friends and family are all things that need negotiated planning. Gone are the days of moving in and hoping all of these things will miraculously manage themselves “because we love each other”.

Love is not easy. In fact, if a relationship is going to stand the test of time, couples must be willing to challenge one another and grow together. Otherwise, rather than finding peace, they find boredom and a cage that restricts them. The books on romance and love rarely speak to the practical issues involved in creating and maintaining a loving relationship. Self-help books can make good reading, but fall short of giving practical, hands-on knowledge. Our Designer Relationship Telecourses provide you with common sense tools while guiding you through the process of defining your needs and desires, and learning how to take risks with the “ultimate in intimacy” as the end result. It is this real intimacy that allows the potential for your relationship to be long-lasting and fulfilling to both, you and your partner.

Jocelyn Rose takes a leading edge approach to relationships, and doesn’t subscribe to the old paradigms. Our Designer Relationship Telecourses are for people looking for a fresh view on relationships and how to manage them in this millennium.

Designer Relationships leave nothing up to speculation or hopes of "happily ever after." The objective of the Designer Relationship is to know where you are going and why. Our Telecourses engage you in creating a map of the territory, based your own unique needs. “Add love and stir”, or “relationships in a marriage box” are exchanged for techniques and understanding that allow for the uniqueness of each party involved, and create a plan that encompasses everyone’s needs, wants and desires. We teach you how to have your cake and eat it too… after all, what is cake for?

Course Outline

The Creating Designer Relationship Telecourse
covers the nuts and bolts of achieving long lasting success in your relationships. This 8-week course will give you the fundamentals necessary for all couples to begin to negotiate the rougher waters of emotional disagreements, communications and desires.

This course is a prerequisite to any of the Level Two Designer Relationship Telecourses, as it teaches the basic tools, common language and awareness that are necessary to achieve clear and intimate communication. This Telecourse will cover the following topics:

Negotiation vs. Compromise

We were taught to keep the peace in relationships, to compromise. Unfortunately, this can lead to resentments.

• Negotiating win-win scenarios, so that both you and your partner can get what you want.

Emotional Intelligence
Being angry and hurt does not mean you are right!

• Valuable tools to make your emotions work for you and your relationship, rather than against it.

Power Struggles
Power dynamics come to light in all relationships, at one point or another.

• How to ensure everyone “holds their own” in a way that ensues long term respect and integrity.

Personal Needs
Needs are like thirst, they are either met or ignored. The longer they are ignored, though, the stronger they become.

• Ensuring both partners’ needs are met in the relationship.

Who Is This Person?

Sometimes you might feel as though your partner is an alien; it is hard to comprehend how they think or why they do what they do, or how they see the world.

• Embracing differences: "my alien lover."

Communication
Communication is the key to true intimacy and is an art that can be learned.

• Turning your arguments into an opportunity for intimacy and deeper understanding.

Emotional Blackmail
"If you loved me enough you would… (fill in the blank)"

• The do’s and don'ts of emotional crossfire. Getting the results you want vs. pushing your lovers further away.

The Relationship Wheel
The Relationship Wheel is a powerful tool that helps you get clarity and focus on what your relationship needs in order to make it a truly designer relationship.

• Creating a smooth rotation in your own relationship wheel.
